So this week I am taking the train to east Glacier Park, which I am informed is on the opposite side of the park from the giant fires. I am currently in Portland, Oregon with my travel buddy, Beth. We spent the morning at the Japanese tea garden and rose test garden, both of which were gorgeous in different ways. In lieu of a post, here are some pictures.

View from the train to Portland, showing how smoky the air is.

Vacations are really nice.

  1. Have a great vacation! Watch out for steam dragons in Glacier Park.

  2. What a beautiful place!

btw, I don’t know if it’s my computer, but all of your photos are sideways.

  3. On a technical note, I’m seeing your photos displayed sideways.

  4. Welcome to Portland! Sorry about the smoke, should be better tomorrow. 🙂

I hope you will be visiting Powell’s…

  5. The east side is nicer anyway! West side is lovely (when not on fire), but in the way that any mountainous foresty lake type place is lovely. The east side is a lot more dramatic and unique. Have fun!

  6. If by any chance your trip to the west coast gets you down to the SF Bay Area, we would be happy to feed you and your travel buddy a medieval dinner.
